Welcome to Kilsyth Community Council
We are a group of elected representatives who aim to promote the town, protect our heritage and the interests of our residents but also encourage sustainable development in and around the town of Kilsyth.
Our monthly meetings are held in Burngreen Hall on the third Wednesday of the month, starting at 7.00 pm, and all residents are welcome to attend these meetings which are held in public. We welcome your interest in our activities.
Whether you are visiting our web site from home or abroad we are delighted to have you with us. You can contact us with any questions about the town, perhaps where you or your relatives used to live, etc. We have access to experts on the town’s heritage and history who can help us provide information when requested, including pictures of Kilsyth now and in the past. We will try and get an answer back to you just as soon as possible.
We have provided links to a wide range of local sites and organisations of interest – so you can have a browse through these at your leisure. These include links to several genealogy sites which should help in tracing your family history.
In 2002 this Community Council gained the Supercounty title of Community Organisation Champion. We are proud of Kilsyth’s achievements in winning awards in the Beautiful Scotland Campaigns of both 2009 and 2010 and in successfully hosting the National Walkers are Welcome Conference of 2010. We are pleased to have been a partner organisation contributing to the gain of a Bronze Award by the Kilsyth Area Renewal group in the Strong and Sustainable Communities Category of the Local Government COSLA Awards Scheme (2013)
The Community Council thank you for visiting our website.
Best Wishes from Kilsyth, Scotland
